An unexpected vacancy for 2014/15 - immediately available

This amazing top-spec four-bedroom house has a classy modern kitchen/eating/sitting/TV area, with big gas cooker, American-style fridge-freezer, microwave etc. The utility area has a washing machine, loads of bicycle storage and easy access. There's a sunny back garden, ideal for sitting out, and off-street parking at the front for three cars. Gas, electric, water, broadband and TV licence are included. Council tax is not included, but students are exempt anyway.

Where is it? In Osbaldwick, approx 200m from Sainsbury's Local and about 1km from Heslington East. The No 6 bus stop is 50m away.

Lodging basis

You would be a lodger in a family-owned house, with your own lockable room. There is no tenancy agreement but there are house rules - see below - and there is no 12-month commitment required from you or us - just one month's notice is required from either side.

If you want to stay for more than one academic year, there is a reduced rent for the summer holidays.

We only take three students across the four bedrooms. The other current occupiers are two male third-year undergraduates.

The house is near the eastern edge of York, approximately 3km from the City walls, 1km and 2km from the Heslington East/West campuses of York University respectively.


Cycling is well catered-for. There is an off-road cycleway into the City that starts nearby.

The No. 6 bus is 50m away and goes to the City and station (nearby Rougier Street to be more precise) every 10-12 minutes. No. 6 Timetable

The No. 20 bus is also 50m away and goes to York University, but is much less frequent. No. 20 Timetable. It also goes to the huge Monks Cross shopping centre, north-east of the city.


Sainsbury's Local is also on Farndale Avenue, approximately 200 metres away.

For a larger range of items, Morrisons near the City walls (3km) can be reached by the offroad cycleway or the No. 6 bus.

All rents quoted are per month. Rental periods will be for complete weeks, with the rent adjusted pro-rata.

Rent is payable monthly in advance. A refundable deposit of £300 is also required, which will be independently administered by the Deposit Protection Service
